Your Late-August Newsletter
Happy Sunday, Ward One
Our campaign has the support of educators and legislators, neighbors and laborers, but the endorsement we got on Friday really warmed my heart: the Sierra Club. Protecting and restoring our environment—especially our creeks and Bay—is one of my great passions, and it will always be a priority as your representative.
There are just over three weeks until election day, and I need your help. We’ve made a lot happen over the past year, but there’s so much more we can do to make city government more efficient and effective. If you enjoy these newsletters and want to keep getting them, please read on for how you can help the campaign at this critical time.
Here are the top 3 things you need to know in Annapolis:
This week I’m launching the Accomplishments page of the campaign website, so you can see just some of what we’ve made happen this year.
Aldermanic Forums are happening on August 27th and September 3rd. Be there! And wear a Harry t-shirt!
We need your help writing post cards, knocking on doors, and volunteering on election day. Take a look at our events or reply to this message.
Updates from Harry
Did you know that this year I’ve introduced more legislation than any other alderman?
That’s on top of leading the budget process that provided record funding to public safety, rebalanced us away from shiny new projects, and brought home the bacon for Ward One. And it’s to say nothing of the constituent services that I pride myself on.
Sometimes it’s tough to keep track of everything we’ve made happen in this whirlwind year. That’s why this week our campaign launched harrymhuntley.com/accomplishments.
From streetlights fixed to a new park established, from supporting our youth to keeping sidewalks safe for seniors, I’m proud of how my work has led to tangible improvements in our community. And if I’ve helped you with something that you don’t see on here, let me know! I’m sure there’s more we can add.
From City Dock to outdoor dining to even whether we keep having a mayor, this election is about whether we want public servants who have the energy and expertise to make city government run better, or political bomb-throwers who will tear it all down out of frustration. I need your help in ensuring I’m reelected to keep working every day on optimizing government, strengthening our communities, and focusing on the issues that matter most to you.
To that end, another page I want you to take a look at is harrymhuntley.com/events. Now is the time that I most need you to join our campaign. Come knock on doors, sit at my dining room table writing post cards with us, or let me know if you want to host a meet & greet. And we’ve still got yard signs to give out!
Can you take 10 post cards to fill out and send to your friends this week, reminding them to vote on September 16? Just reply to this message, and I’ll drop off a stack.
This week and every week, I’m grateful for the honor of representing you and our whole community. Never hesitate to contact me at harry@harrymhuntley.com.
