Ward One Alderman Harry Huntley’s Campaign Posts Strong First Quarter Financial Showing, Collects Over $30k in Donations

The campaign for Ward 1 Alderman Harry Huntley recently announced receiving 219 donations, totaling more than $31,000 in donations during a successful fundraising period.

According to the campaign, the first reporting period closed after raising $31,055.65. This initial fundraising effort demonstrates significant support as the campaign progresses, Huntley said.

The statement indicated that 93% of these funds came from within Maryland, with notable donors, including Friends of Sarah Elfreth, Friends of Steuart Pittman, former Senator John Astle, Cindy Busch (wife of former Speaker Michael Busch and a Ward One resident), renowned Annapolis sailor Gary Jobson, longtime local businessman Carroll Hynson, and Germantown-Homewood Community Association President Erin McCopp, among many others. "Two of these donors are still eligible to contribute further, indicating strong potential for continued financial backing."

Alderman Huntley provided an overview of the campaign's financial standing, stating, "We have approximately seventeen thousand dollars on hand after expenditures on staff, supplies for fundraisers and meet and greets, extensive literature for door knocking, signs, stickers, shirts, and essential administrative costs like donation fees and website maintenance." Alderman Huntley said said transparency underscores the efficient allocation of resources for campaign activities.

He further emphasized the strength of their support, adding, "Shattering fundraising records thanks to overwhelmingly local support shows our campaign is clearly in the best position for victory. But we won't let up from working harder than anyone else to ensure Ward One has an alderman who makes city government more efficient and effective for all residents." Huntley said the statement reflected the campaign's commitment to both continued effort and serving the community.
